Sea freight time is affected by factors such as the location of the destination port, whether there is a direct route, and seasonal congestion. Delivery times vary significantly between different regions. Please refer to the following for specific details:
Direct flights to major ports in Northwest Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg, etc.) take 35-37 days; direct flights to Mediterranean ports (Genoa, Barcelona, etc.) take approximately 35-40 days. If the destination port is not a major port (such as Gothenburg in Northern Europe or Constanta in Eastern Europe), a transit at a major port is required, which will extend the transit time by an additional 10-15 days. During peak seasons or when ports are congested, the transit time may be extended by another 5-15 days.
There is a significant difference in transit time between the east and west coasts of South America. Direct Pacific routes to the west coast (such as San Antonio, Chile) take approximately 30-35 days; routes to the east coast (such as Santos, Brazil, and Rio de Janeiro) often transit through the Panama Canal, taking 30-40 days. A few routes that go around the Cape of Good Hope can take 50-60 days, but these routes are rarely used.
LCL shipments to key Middle Eastern ports have relatively stable transit times, taking approximately 22-25 days to Jebel Ali Port (Dubai) in the UAE and 22-28 days to Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia.
Due to the dense network of routes, the overall transit time is short, but there is a significant difference between direct flights and connecting flights. Flights to Singapore take only 3-7 days; direct flights to Jakarta, Indonesia take 6-8 days, while connecting flights to smaller ports such as Medan take 20-25 days; flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam take approximately 10-12 days; and flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, typically take 7-12 days, but connecting flights to ports such as Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, take 18-20 days.
To Far Eastern ports, transit time is only 10-15 days, which may be extended by 3-5 days due to ice formation in the Sea of Japan during winter. Transit times to Baltic ports (St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga) and Black Sea ports (Novorossiysk) are similar, with LCL shipments taking 35-45 days. In case of special circumstances such as Suez Canal congestion, transit time may be extended by 10-15 days. If transiting by rail from Far Eastern ports to inland cities such as Moscow, the total transit time is approximately 20-30 days.
